Chevening OCIS Fellowship 2027-2028

Introduction

The Chevening Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Fellowship 2027-2028 is a collaboration between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies. The program aims to promote academic activities that foster a deeper understanding of Islamic culture and civilization, as well as contemporary Muslim societies.

Fellows will spend five months at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, engaging with global issues through the lens of Islamic thought, modern diplomacy, and policy.

Eligibility

• Mid-career professionals and academics.
• Candidates with a focus on promoting academic activities related to Islamic culture, civilization, and contemporary Muslim societies.
• Candidates who are citizens and residents of one of the listed countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Senegal, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, or Uzbekistan.

Requirements

• A postgraduate degree or equivalent professional training in a relevant field at the time of application.
